Kia has embraced the unexpected by creating the Kia Carnival. Still in its first model year, the 2022 Kia Carnival pushes boundaries in every way. By taking what works from the minivan and large SUV body styles and mixing them together in one, the Carnival offers the best of both worlds.
Finding the right Carnival for your family is made easier thanks to the variety of trim levels offered. There are five trims of the Carnival, allowing shoppers to start looking at the middle trim (EX) and then move up or down the list from there to pick the right interior traits and safety features. Each one is presented in the following chart with two key features highlighted next to it.
Key Feature 1
Key Feature 2
|LX||Advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist||LED Headlights|
|LX+||Multi-Zone Auto Climate Control||Wireless Phone Charging|
|EX||Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist||UVO Intelligence™ Infotainment System|
|EX+||12.3-Inch Multimedia Screen and 12.3-Inch Digital Instrument Cluster||Full Dual LED Headlights and LED Fog Lights|
|SX||BOSE® Premium Audio||Pure Leather Seating|
The 2022 Kia Carnival EX is the model all shoppers should see first. It doesn’t have all available features, but it should impress as a middle trim regardless. This trim is outfitted with some nice interior features and a generous list of safety technologies so buyers don’t feel left out if the EX is the best trim available or in their budget.
Buyers looking strictly for the seating capacity will be well-served by the LX. Since every trim has the same engine and sliding doors, the LX only lacks some convenience and technology features. The sliding doors on the LX are not powered, so the LX+ might still be the best choice for parents of young children trying to keep to a budget.
